Boo! on The Native Noise Acoustic Collection

November 18, 2004

Boo! worked extremely hard to develop the kind of local fanbase SA artists dream of. Then they decided to work even harder and earn the fanbase that international artists dream of. Boo! have always been one of the most unique bands in the world, they even created their own genre – monkipunk. After 7 years, 876 gigs and 70000kms the band as we came to love it has decided to stop playing together. In December 2004 Chris Chameleon, Ampie Omo & Boney Leoni performed their final South African shows together.

In May of that year Boo! kicked of the first official 3 hour Native Noise. On a short trip to Cape Town the trio stopped off at UCT Radio and performed 3 songs as no fan could have imagined. Boo! have a reputation for doing the unexpected and on the 22nd May they outdid themselves. It was amazing to witness a band that has no guitarist performing a set with an acoustic guitar. One of the three songs performed was the previously unreleased Garden. With the uncertain future of Boo! this song will be a collector’s item for fans across the world.
