The Rudimentals on The Native Noise Acoustic Collection

November 18, 2004

Any music loving Capetonian and most well-informed South Africans will be offended if you try and tell them about The Rudimentals…EVERYONE knows and loves the Rude Boys! The Rudimentals are one of the few bands that can share the stage with any performer and get the audience instantly hooked into skanking. The 9 Piece band (10 including Zinzi the Boss Lady) launched their debut album More Fire in 2003 and have been spreading the ska-seed across the country. The Rudimentals were the first band to bring a brass section into the Native Noise Acoustic Collection, they proved that they can think and play out of the box by introducing the concept of unplugged skanking tunes.

I’m making a slideshow/video thing to project at their upcoming 9th birthday event at zula. Would you like to contribute some of your old photos of the band perhaps…please?
