I so enjoy listening to you talk
Even when you’re talking just to keep my attention
You may notice that I’m too nervous to actually listen
Despite the noise and chaos we’re really quite alone
If you stop talking there might be an awkward silence
Then I might feel the need to say something witty or deep or vaguely intelligent
Or even worse I might think it’s a good idea to kiss you
And then I’ll be completely preoccupied with the thought that one day we might share silence that isn’t awkward
