Send me a message to say how you feel
Be sure to keep it short and don’t say too much
I can fill in the blanks and read between the lines
And if there aren’t enough lines
I’ll pay careful attention to what you don’t say
“Leave me alone”
“Don’t smother me”
“You’re not important to me”
“I want nothing to do with you”
“I barely even like you”
In fact don’t send me a message at all
I’ll hear the words screaming through your silence
And know that some things are better left unsaid
Unsaid Between the Lines
