It’s no wonder I noticed you across the room
As we sing the same song you smile with a cheeky wink
“How could this be done by such a smiling sweetheart?”
Only a fool wouldn’t approach you
I guess my foreign hair makes me a fool
Unless we litrerally bump into each other
A joke, a laugh, introductions, a dance, a chat
This looks like it’s going somewhere
The destination is the bar
I preferred the journey
Perhaps you were only interested in a drink
Perhaps I am “so naive, yet so…”
But all I needed was a smile from across the room
