Reminders

February 22, 2008

At his age the mind tends to wander
Through clouded thoughts that make him wonder
He may not mind his scattered thoughts
But he thinks he misplaced the big idea
Each little thought and well placed plan
Can be overlooked amidst the clutter
With his eyes off the prize
He’ll take one step at a time
So baby steps remind the old timer
That memories are well worth taking note of
He’ll plaster his life with notes and reminders
To feed the cat and mind the roses
The clutter is clearer with so many labels
A yellow world of post-it wallpaper
But he always forgets to sticker himself
With notes to self that need to say,
“Look after yourself”
