Both ears ring as he sits between them
He longs for a cartoon character’s conscience
An animated angel arguing with the devil
If only the yin and yang were so clean-cut
But more often than not
It’s devil vs. devil
Poisoning his mind with an abundance of yin
Only made tolerable
By the odd drop of yang
