He says he’s never had a drink alone
It’s an accomplishment he’s proud of
As if it grants some kind of moral high ground
When really it’s an extension of his greatest flaw
What he does or does not do alone
Only has merit when someone knows
What good are his adventures
If no one hears his tales?
So he invites friends and strangers
And strangers that could be friends
To join him on his journey
To drag him off the couch
So that one day he may appreciate his solitude
And enjoy a drink with the best friend he always had
