Could there be a present?
A marvellously appealing gift.
A box filled with possibility
Wrapped ever so neatly in warm nostalgia.
Reality placing it just out of reach.
Romanticism making it ever grander.
Firmly wedged between a powerful past and a glorious future
The present is far easier to deny today.
