Trapped behind a pain of glass
No-one hears your pleading
You’ll push and hit and stomp your feet
But no-one sees your bleeding
You talk, you beg, you even shout
But all they hear is screaming
Your voice is numb so use a pen
Your words will lose all meaning
You huff and puff and lose your breath
When the response is so demeaning
Through misted glass you cannot show
The loneliness you’re fearing
On the other side they can’t believe
The way you’re so uncaring
Through all the screaming you can’t hear
The pain and weight they’re bearing
As they walk away you may reflect
On a truth that should be glaring
The muted voice from a see-through face
And hollow eyes just staring
Pain of Glass
