Stand too close and you’ll be cloaked in darkness.
It is futile but you can try
To surround it with laughter,
Cover it with small talk,
Smother it with love,
Or fill it with compassion.
Even if you dive in to kiss the core
The worm you’ll find won’t stop digging until it has its full.
