Stooshe Waterfalls Countdown Banner & Twitter Crowd

We wanted the banners on Stooshe’s website to make a big splash when announcing the girls’ latest single ‘Waterfalls’.

To start the campaign I built a banner to include a jQuery countdown timer. When the timer reached zero the new video would be revealed. This banner was designed by Kate Brighouse before I added the HTML, CSS and jQuery to style the countdown and include some responsive design elements. We launched two versions of the banner: a massive one on the home page and smaller leaderboard banners on content pages throughout the site. Both versions resized dynamically to fit the browser size.

After the video launched we also introduced one of Powster’s Twitter crowds. The brief for this crowd was to create a waterfall effect of tweeting fans falling behind the girls. I found a simple waterfall script and included that so that fans would stream down the page along with the flowing water effect.

The banners did a great job hyping up the video with the countdown building anticipation and the twitter crowd driving social engagement.
