To promote the latest Benny Banks single, ‘Who’s the Daddy?’ I was asked to build a new holding page.

An external designer used the Wiley Heatwave site as a template to create the new design before I got to work on the html, php, css and jQuery code.

The site needed to be responsive so it took some careful consideration and slight modifications to ensure that it resizes to maintain useability and fit tablet and smartphone screens.

Like the Wiley site, this holding page includes a combined twitter feed, displaying tweets by Benny Banks as well as those about him. I used php to retrieve and cache all twitter results every few minutes. A jQuery script then cycles through the tweets allowing fans to show the feed they’re most interested in or view a combined feed.

The page also includes specific open graph video tags to ensure that the YouTube video is embedded in the post when the page is shared on Facebook.

The site is fairly simple looking but makes the most of social and mobile technologies to ensure a smooth viewing experience.
